Prairie Smoke & Spice is very proud to announce that our pitmaster Rob Reinhardt has been selected to lead the International Team at the 2016 Memphis in May World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest. This World Championship event attracts hundreds of teams and over 100,000 spectators between May 10 and 15, 2016.
Rob and his team will be competing as “Saskatchewan Smokers”, a tribute to the province from which they were born and currently reside. In addition to competing in this prestigious event, Rob has designed a Canadian-themed BBQ menu, and will help serve this food to several hundred special guests and dignitaries in the International booth.
“We are very excited to be invited to represent Canada at the world’s greatest BBQ festival”, notes Rob. “We’ve never had an opportunity to attend in the past, this will be the ultimate introduction to the Super Bowl of Swine”. Rob will be joined by his wife Jacy and part time team member Mike Cooper from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ is the 2015 Canadian National BBQ Champion team, according to the Canadian BBQ Society. Prairie Smoke & Spice runs a food truck and catering business in Regina, Saskatchewan. They also transport their crew and monster festival rig to the biggest events in Western Canada, serving over 80,000 people in 2015. Rob runs Canada’s largest BBQ school, and is a board member of the Canadian BBQ Society.
